Angular distribution in resonant Auger spectra of xenon excited below the3d5/2ionization threshold

Abstract
The 3d5/2 6p and 7p excitations and their decay in Xe have been studied by using total ion yield and angle-resolved electron spectroscopies. The natural linewidths of the 3d5/21np(n=6,7) states were determined. Anisotropy parameters of resonant Auger transitions to 4d2np(n=6,7) final states were extracted from the experiment. They were found to be connected with the anisotropy parameters of the corresponding normal Auger transitions as predicted by the gross spectator model.
