Evolution of the anisotropy of the Auger decay of 2p3/21ns resonances into anisotropy of L3MM Auger decay in Ar

Abstract
We show that the anisotropy of the photon excited Ar 2p3/21ns resonant Auger spectrum evolves smoothly into the anisotropy of the corresponding normal L3MM Auger spectrum as the excitation energy is tuned across the L3 ionization threshold. Our results show that the difference between the angular anisotropy parameters α2 of the resonant and normal Auger transitions becomes smaller than 10% around n≳14.
