Abstract
The use of metamaterials to obtain a wideband wide angle impedance matching (WAIM) for waveguide-fed planar phased array is investigated. The constitutive parameters as well the thickness of the layers placed over the radiating elements are optimized by means of a particle swarm optimizer (PSO). Selected results show the effectiveness of the approach in improving the performance of the whole radiating system. Keywords
