Abstract
Waveform analysis instead of traditional wave height analysis was employed. A complete internal friction against temperature profile is obtainable as well as temperature, period of oscillation and internal friction data in table format. In addition to the elimination of manual operation and supervision, the accuracy of measurement was greatly increased because by using Fourier transformation of the waveform of damped oscillation the disturbing components of parasitic motions such as flexural or precessional are separated out from the genuine torsional motion and eliminated on calculating the decay constant. Keywords
