Cellular Deformability during Maturation of the Myeloblast

Abstract
The deformability of human marrow granulocytes was measured by cell elastimetry. Myeloblasts and promyelocytes were extremely resistant to deformation when studied with a micropipette 3.5 μ in diameter. Myelocytes were more easily deformed. Polymorphonuclear granulocytes were highly deformable. These studies indicated that cellular viscosity or surface rigidity is appreciably reduced during granulocyte maturation.This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
