Abstract
In response to the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, governments around the world have implemented legally binding lockdowns. These unprecedented policies mandate internal movement restrictions, school and business closures, and travel bans and other types of restrictions. They have been embraced by public health experts and politicians as the most effective method for combating the pandemic.
