Abstract
Sidney Winter’s 1968 proposal of an alternative way to think about firms still seems remarkably sound (Winter, 2006). It lays out the kernel of a highly fruitful way for social scientists to characterize firms. It was beautifully conceived, and has been extensively and influentially developed by Winter and by the many colleagues and students who have delighted in working with him over the subsequent years. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
