Saussure e o necessário esquecimento da fala infantil: uma leitura para a aquisição de linguagem

Abstract
The aim of this work is to show that it is possible to infer from De Saussure’s work elements which are relevant for discussing the acquisition by the child of its mother tongue. It is from the author’s ([1916]2008) conceptualization on linguistic change that we devise the hypothesis that change in language acquisition implies to forgetting (and losing) infantile speech. On the other side, we try also to show that forgetting infantile speech due to the acquisition of mother tongue should not be considered apart from the forces which act in the so-called screen memories of childhood, according to Freud’s theorization ([1899] 1994).
