Abstract
A system is described for stabilizing the frequency and phase of a klystron where its frequency is to be varied continuously at any predetermined rate. This system, when applied to a microwave spectrograph and frequency standard, greatly improves the resolution, sensitivity, and accuracy of frequency measurements. The system also has application to superheterodyne detection systems in which the local oscillator is phase locked to the signal klystron.
