Abstract
Nearly 120,000 Staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections and 20,000 associated deaths occurred in the United States in 2017. After years of progress, the rate of decline of MRSA bloodstream infections has slowed in the United States, whereas bloodstream infections caused by methicillin-susceptible S. aureus are increasing slightly in the community (3.9% annually, 2012–2017).Keywords
