Recommendations for Human Blood Pressure Determinations by Sphygmomanometers

A Committee appointed by the Council for High Blood Pressure Research of the Scientific Council of the American Heart Assoc. submits revised suggestions for determining systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients. The chief change in technic consists in utilization of the disappearance of sounds instead of the muffling phase as a criterion of diastolic pressure.
