CIRCULATORY EFFECTS OF NICOTINE AEROSOL INHALATIONS AND CIGARETTE SMOKING IN MAN

Abstract
Inhalations of smoke from a filter-tip cigarette and of nicotine aerosol in approximately equivalent amounts (with respect to nicotine) from a pressurised container, produced similar increases in pulse-rate and blood-pressure in healthy volunteers. Inhalations from nicotine-free cigarettes and of aerosol propellant alone had no effects on the circulation.
