Abstract
Centella asiatica is commonly known for its medicinal and nutritional values throughout the world. The medicinal properties of Centella root, leaf and other parts of the plant are also well known in traditional system of medicine. During the last few decades there has been an increasing interest in the study of medicinal plants and their traditional use in different parts of India. In the present review the chemical composition, food and nutritional value, ethno medicinal and pharmacological activities of Centella asiatica have been discussed to provide collective information on its multi purpose commercial values..
