Abstract
We report optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) through modal phase matching in GaAs/AlGaAs semiconductorwaveguides. Using femtosecond pulses, both type-I and type-II SHG is demonstrated for fundamental wavelengths near 1.55 μm.Keywords
