Abstract
Taste and smell are critical to dietary selection, especially for older adults, whose appetite is reduced. Neuroimaging studies can elucidate the process that causes the decrease of chemosensory functions with aging. The profound lost of olfactory functions in persons with Alzheimer disease accentuate the problem of inadequate food intake and disease progression. Keywords
