Abstract
Light-scattering techniques that are useful for the in situ measurement in flames of particles smaller than 0.1 μm are reviewed. Included are a summary of the properties of small particles in flames, a basic description of static- and dynamic-light-scattering measurement techniques, and selected examples that demonstrate the application of these techniques in flame environments.© (1986) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
