Factors in parental behavior and personality as related to problem behavior in children.

Abstract
The pattern loadings indicated that in families with conduct problem children, both parents are maladjusted and tend to be arbitrary with the child. The mother tended to be active, dictatorial, thwarting, and suggesting. The father tended not to enforce regulations. The study points to the need to give more consideration to the father's role in child development. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
