Generation of Visible Light Response on the Photocatalyst of a Copper Ion Containing TiO2

Abstract
The generation of photocatalytic activity under the irradiation of visible light (longer than 460 nm) was observed over copper ion containing TiO2. It is suggested that low valent copper oxide which was produced in the catalyst under the irradiation of UV plays an important role to the generation of the activity under the irradiation of visible light.
