Abstract
A generic revision of the Galericini is proposed. The genus Parasorex von Meyer, 1865 is revalidated. Tetracus Aymard, 1850 is included in Galerix Pomel, 1848. The stratigraphic ranges and palaeogeographic dispersal of the Galericini is given. The phylogenetic relationships of the genera are discussed. The evolution of Parasorex and Schizogalerix in the Middle Miocene is interpreted as an adaptation to a more herbivorous diet. Keywords
