Diseases of the commercial rabbit

Abstract
Throughout its short history, the commercial rabbit industry has suffered from a poor home market due to the long national memory of the 1950s myxomatosis outbreak, the strong competition from the broiler chicken industry and of low-priced imported rabbit. In the past few years, a new market for British rabbit has opened up in Europe with a potential demand far in excess of the present production. The veterinary profession can assist in this expansion.
