Abstract
In vivo diagnosis of subdural or subarachnoid haematoma was made in five neonates by realtime ultrasound scanning. A combination of asphyxia and sequelae of exchange transfusion were probable precipitating factors. Persistent ultrasound abnormalities relate to quality of outcome in survivors. Keywords
