Titanium dioxide photocatalysed oxidation of benzyltrimethylsilanes in the presence of silver sulfate

Abstract

In the presence of Ag₂SO₄, the TiO₂-mediated photochemical oxidation of substituted benzyltrimethylsilanes in acetonitrile leads to diarylethanes (50–74%) with a significant intermolecular selectivity (ρ=–2.5).
