Abstract
Digitalized communication is a phenomenon that permeates the whole of our lifeworld. It is also changing religion und religiosity. An analysis of current sociological, phenomenological, and world history diagnoses, as provided by Ulrich Beck, Hartmut Rosa and Yuval Noah Harari respectively, reveal the implications this development has for communicating the Gospel. The insights of the important internet innovators Eric Schmidt and Jared Cohen augment the study. Above all, these new forms of communication are a chance to realize the universal and common priesthood of the baptized. At the same time however, remembering biblical traditions like the Sabbath commandment could help counter the evident risks of general distractibility. Keywords
