Primary Lymphoma of the Nervous System Associated with Acquired Immune-Deficiency Syndrome

Abstract
To the Editor: A profound disorder of immunity affecting primarily the male homosexual population is associated with opportunistic systemic infections, infections of the central nervous system, and unusual systemic neoplasms.1 , 2 We have now observed primary lymphoma of the brain in two patients with acquired immune-deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Because this previously unreported complication may alter the approach to treatment, we describe our two patients here.Case 1 was a 40-year-old homosexual man with disseminated Kaposi's sarcoma and recurrent bacterial pulmonary infections.
