Thrombolytic agents and lysis of coronary artery thrombosis

Abstract
Administration of Thrombolysin in dogs with a platelet coronary thrombus resulted in lysis of only recent (less than 2 hr) thrombi with restoration of coronary flow to normal after infusion of the agent in the coronary artery or left ventricle but not in the femoral vein. Significant myocardial haemorrhage followed only intracoronary administration.
