Economic evaluation of robot‐assisted hysterectomy: a cost‐minimisation analysis

Abstract
Objective\ud The aim of this study was to carry out an economic\ud evaluation of robot-assisted hysterectomy compared with the\ud current standard of care in Ireland.\ud Design\ud Cost-minimisation analysis of robot-assisted hysterectomy\ud compared with a combination of traditional open and\ud conventional laparoscopic surgery.\ud Setting\ud The publicly funded healthcare system in Ireland.\ud Population\ud The target population was women requiring\ud hysterectomy that could be completed using robot-assisted\ud surgery.\ud Methods\ud A simulation-based economic evaluation model\ud including data derived from a systematic review and local\ud databases was used to estimate surgical costs.\ud Main outcome measures\ud Incremental cost of robot-assisted\ud surgery compared to current routine care
