Erysotrine-N-oxide and erythrartine-N-oxide, two novel alkaloids from Erythrina mulungu

Abstract

Erysotrine, erythrartine, hypaphorine, and two novel alkaloids, erysotrine-N-oxide and erythrartine-N-oxide, were isolated from the flowers of Erythrina mulungu. The N-oxide structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis (mass, ¹H, and ¹³C nmr) and by partial synthesis.
