Abstract
Youths show great ignorance in matters of sexual behavior. The male adolescent, however, will not admit to this ignorance while the female will not acknowledge that she is interested in this information, The sexual revolution does not mean increased sexual awareness. Early sexual experiences reinforce an unwillingness to learn about sex. The Upward Bound Program conducts two hour sessions to answer questions written by the adolescents. The ten most frequently asked questions are about; the time of probable pregnancy, homosexuality, physiology of erection, masturbation, oral sex, size of penis, veneral infection, morning erection, first intercourse, racial differences in sexual behavior. From the feedback gotten by the author, this approach seems to be successful. Directness and utter honesty about sexual activities, including information about contraceptives, seem to be of great importance. Keywords
