Abstract
Increasing numbers of social work training programs are offering international field practicum placements. However, because it is difficult to provide appropriate, high quality supervision that is needed over large distances, many educators and researchers are calling for the greater use of Internet based videoconferencing to deliver remote supervision. This article examines current ethical guidelines affecting the use of videoconferencing in the supervision of students nationally and internationally. The authors suggest protocols to address ethical and professional practice issues that are likely to arise as a result of using videoconferencing to conduct supervision across international borders. Keywords
