Sodium cyanoborohydride in hexamethylphosphoramide. An exceptionally selective reagent system for the reduction of alkyl iodides, bromides, and tosylates

Abstract
Sodium cyanoborohydride in hexamethylphosphoramide provides a rapid, convenient and exceedingly selective system for the reductive removal of iodobromo-, tosyloxy- and, indirectly, hydroxy-groups.
