A Comparison of MBA Students' and Employers' Perceptions of the Value of Oral Communication Skills for Employment

Abstract
The campus of Pace University-New York City has a large MBA program that includes both non-native- and native-English-speaking students. In this study, the authors sought to determine the differences in the perceptions of the value of oral communication skills (a) among MBA students and (b) between MBA students and prospective employers. Results indicate the presence of several significant differences in the perceptions of the importance of oral communication skills, both between employers and students and among students themselves.
