Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 24-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of dyspnea.At the age of one year he underwent a right nephrectomy because of hydronephrosis associated with bilateral duplication of the collecting systems, with anomalous vessels. Repeated urinary-tract infections occurred and were treated with sulfonamides, and the renal function deteriorated progressively. Six years before admission hypertension was found. Three years later chronic hemodialysis was begun. Thirteen months before entry a left nephrectomy was performed because of hypertension with papilledema. Six months before admission he underwent transplantation of a cadaveric kidney. For several months thereafter prednisone and azathioprine . . .
