Abstract
Among patients who are hospitalized for pneumococcal pneumonia, the incidence of myocardial infarction is 7 to 8%. The true incidence of postinfection myocardial infarction may be higher than estimated, given the practice of attributing elevated troponin levels to “troponin leak.”Keywords
