A Rapid Method for Clinical Total Blood Volume Determination Using Radioactive Iodinated Human Serum Albumin (RIHSA)

Abstract
The paper reports a direct, rapid procedure for determining blood volumes using radioactive iodinated human serum albumin. The technique is described in detail. Forty cases with both Evans Blue and plasma volume controls are statistically analyzed. Various types of anticoagulants and the advantage of this technic over the dye method is discussed.
