Abstract
As healthcare resources become increasingly scarce, professional development educators will be expected to provide cost-effective education to meet the organization's mission and strategic goals. This can only happen when educators collaborate with organizational leaders to identify actual educational needs in a proactive way. Rather than reacting to educational needs, educators must use a proactive and collaborative approach in forecasting these needs in a consistent and timely manner. This is best accomplished when the mission of staff development is clear; the stakeholders are identified; and tools and processes are in place to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational offerings. Keywords
