The Plate and Haut-Giffre massifs in Haute-Savoie (France) and the Dents du Midi massif in Switzerland are described. The Morcles nappe of Switzerland apparently does not extend southward into France, one of the rare cases where a geologic boundary corresponds closely to a political boundary.
