Abstract
IN THIS issue of the ARCHIVES, Janumpally and colleagues report that blacks and Asian/Pacific Islanders were much more likely than whites to undergo a private office consultation for atopic dermatitis in the United States.1 It is hoped that this will stimulate more research into why this may be so. The categorizing of the entire US population into just 3 "races" provides an opportunity to consider some important issues for dermatologic research into race and ethnicity.
