Ununited Bilateral Fatigue Fractures of the First Ribs

Abstract
A case of bilateral acquired pseudarthrosis of the first rib, the result of bilateral fatigue fractures, is presented. This patient complained of a "sticking" pain in the left scapular region. No symptoms were present on the right. The literature on this subject with particular reference to the origin of the defect—congenital or acquired—is reviewed.
