Abstract
The majority of municipal and industrial solid wastes is disposed of in landfills. Although sanitary landfill guidelines have reduced the immediate public health hazards from vector exposure, environmental degradation can occur through leaching of organics and inorganics from the solid waste by infiltrating rainwater. This study evaluates the migration of leachate containing trace contaminants away from a solid waste landfill located upstream from an artesian well field operated by a local water company. Keywords
