The Effect of the Administration of Tetracycline on the Development of Teeth

Abstract
Administration of tetracycline hydrochloride to young mice 2 weeks old resulted in the incorporation of the tetracycline fluorophore in dentin and enamel of both incisors and molars. The fluorophore appears in bands corresponding to the serial administration of the drug. Densitometric measurements of these areas of dentin and enamel indicate a reduction in the mineral content of these tissues.
