Abstract
Potent antiretroviral treatment has led to a dramatic decrease in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-associated morbidity and mortality.1-3 However, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related opportunistic illnesses (OIs) continue to occur,4 and risk factors for clinical progression during potent therapy are ill-defined at present.
