Abstract
As our population ages and the prevalence of such chronic diseases as hypertension, diabetes, and congestive heart failure increases,1-3 more patients will be prescribed multiple drug regimens. Many patients with diabetes, for example, require hypoglycemic agents, antihypertensive and lipid-lowering medicines, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, and daily aspirin.4 Evidence-based treatment of heart failure requires similarly complex regimens.5Keywords
