Dynamic Testing of Curved Bridge—Huyck Stream

Abstract
A curved steel girder bridge was field tested in Rensselaer, New York. Described are the results of the tests in terms of measurements of stress, deflection, rotation, and general behavior of the structure. The bridge tested is a four-girder, simple-span structure with center line span length of 95 ft, and center line radius of 162 ft built with radial supports. The test vehicle was a semitrailer combination which was loaded to simulate as HS20-44 design loading. Dynamic as well as static (crawl) runs were performed.
