Abstract
Methods of treatment of congenital syphilitic arthritis and possible changes in joint pathology as the result of anti-biotic therapy are reviewed. There was deterioration of vision and hearing in two of the reported cases, which in one progressed to blindness and complete deafness in spite of negative serology and intensive anti-syphilitic treatment. Congenital syphilitic cardiovascular disease and differential diagnosis from tuberculous lesions are also discussed.
