Scaling of chaotic multiplicity: A new observation in high-energy interactions

Abstract
We analyze high-energy-interaction data to study the dependence of chaotic multiplicity on the pseudorapidity window and propose a new scaling function Ψ¯(z¯)=n1nmax where n1 is the chaotic multiplicity and z¯=nnmax is the reduced multiplicity, following the quantum-optical concept of particle production. It has been observed that the proposed "chaotic multiplicity scaling" is obeyed by pp, pp¯, and AA collisions at different available energies.
