Niobium- and tantalum-containing oxide materials: Synthesis, properties, and application

Abstract
Works devoted to developing the methods of producing oxide niobium- and tantalum-containing materials are reviewed. The main idea consists in the development of methods of a controllable synthesis of a new class of precursors: mono- and bimetallic Low Hydrated Hydroxides (LHH) of niobium and/or tantalum (Nb n Ta1 − n O x (OH)5 − x · mH2O) and use of intermediates on their basis in synthesis of complex oxide phases, with production of materials of high phase and chemical homogeneity and specified granulometric composition.
