Abstract
4-Methylumbelliferyl N-acetyl-[beta]-glucos-aminide has been prepared, and its use as a substrate in the assay of N-acetyl-[beta] -glucosaminidase has been described. The range and sensitivity of spectrophotometric and fluorimetric estimations of methy-umbelliferone gave the procedure advantages over existing methods.Keywords
