Abstract
Behavioral addiction is a new class of psychiatric disorders being considered for inclusion in the next edition of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). In this article, pathological model railroading disorder is introduced as a vehicle for highlighting and discussing the foreseeable risks and benefits of legitimizing behavioral addiction as a diagnostic class in DSM-5.Keywords
