DEVELOPMENT OF A SIMPLE METHOD TO PREDICT DISCHARGES IN COMPOUND MEANDERING CHANNELS.

Abstract
Development of a simple methodto predict dischargesin compound meandering channels R. K. Greenhill, PhD, and R. H. J. Sellin, DSc, FICE, FIWEM A method to design compound meandering channels is presented. It is based on the Manning-Strickler equation and is found to predict successfully the stagedischarge relationships for the tests carried out on the Flood ChannelFacility and forthose from other research projects. It has not yet been tested against field measurements.
