Abstract
This paper presents an approach to enhancing the contrast of microcalcifications in mammograms using a contrast enhancement algorithm based on a combination of morphological enhancement and non-flat structuring elements. Given that microcalcifications appear as small domes on a 3D relief of a mammogram, enhancement is achieved by using structuring elements which have a 3D formKeywords
